  • Forrest Gump:Life is like a box of chocolates…”  I enjoyed this movie far more on this viewing. This is the story of a man who people thought was nothing but who ended up with everything that any man would ever want. This story weaves itself over years, through many landmark American moments and people to tell what boils down to a simple love story.
  • Sunset Boulevard: “Its time for my close up Mr DeMille” A story of what happens after a star falls. This movie from decades past was impressive. Without flashy special effects at his disposal the director had to use an excellent story mixed with brilliant acting to drive this eerie and sometimes disturbing deature.
  • 2001: A Space Odessey: “I’m afraid. I’m afraid, Dave.” What? Are you serious? In short… Monkey finds Monolith. Bashes tapiers and monkey’s to death. Man finds Monolith. Discovers Monolith transmitting signal to Jupiter. Man goes to Jupiter. On the way computer kills everyone but Dave who proceeds to travel through colours to a room with a man. Man breaks glass, dies in bed then Monolith appears. Has weird HUGE baby.  Baby looks at EVERYONE. Avoid if you value your IQ, or more importantly, your sanity.
  • Casablanca: “Here’s lookin’ at you, kid.” Gorgeous story set during the war. Bogie plays Rick, a different kind of war hero. An amazing classic. A must watch for everyone, perticularly the sentimental.
  • Frankenstein: “Its alive! ITS ALIVE!” Pretty good for a movie from 1931. This movie managed to be scary without using all the gimmicks we have grown used to. Boris Karloff is fantastic as the monster.
