Reviews

  • Cliffhanger: A thrilling action packed edge of your seat ride… and then the opening credits roll and you spend the rest of the movie either falling asleep or marvelling at the dialogue. You should see me bake a cake, it’s better than this movie.
  • Speed: This was a well paced action movie with the right ammount of thrills, spills, and scares to keep me entertained the whole movie. I was surprised to find an action movie with a plot which flowed well and kept me believing in the story. A good movie for a Saturday night at home.
  • Terminator 2: Having never previously seen this movie (and actively avoiding it) I was surprised as to how good it was so it probably was awarded extra points by me for this alone. A story about maternal love, the value of human life and frienship encased in an action packed adventure as both the Terminator and Sarah Connor fight to protect her son John and ultimately change the fate of human kind. I can see why this is an action classic.
  • Scarface: This is a brutal film about Cuban born Tony Montana, a man who immigrated to America to live the American Dream. Tony quickly falls into a life of crime where his story depicts to audiences what is really important in life. We see that although the world was his, his vain, superficial, and money loving ways can lead only one place, and that is to the bottom of a swimming pool, full of holes.
  • Point Break: A too long movie about an undercover FBI agent on the hunt for bank robbers. Takes itself way too seriously and the result is a boring movie that at no point makes you feel or care about the characters or plot.
  • Die Hard: An arrogant jerk battles supervillains headed by the always amazing Alan Rickman. Most of the movie its hard to side with the good guy as Rickman is just so good. Only in an action movie could this “good guy” beat the baddies and get the girl.
  • Enemy of the State: Well paced story with excellent twist ending. Thrilling. Better character development made this action movie believable.
  • The Fugitive: This movie stands the test of time. A man battling to prove his innocence. A thrill ride with twists and turns at all the right moments. Harrison Ford at his best.
